CST438 Module 8

 List the 5 most important things that you learned in the course, and why you chose them.

  1. Agile development: Agile development seems to be a very common development style in the industry although it is quite new to us as students through this program. I feel as though getting used to it this early on its important to our professional development.
  2. React: React seemed to be a very easy to use and expand type of front end language, the only other one I used in the past was Express I believe -- but React seems better suited to my development style.
  3. Rest: Similar to React, Rest seemed like a fairly easy to use backend language and I would like to use it again in the future for other projects.
  4. Deploying to AWS: AWS is used commonly for countless companies on countless projects and so know how to leverage the tools that AWS has is key to being successful in many job markets.
  5. Selenium: Prior to being introduced to Selenium, I didn't know any ways to test a web interface automatically as if it was being used by a human user.

This week I was able to complete the objects for our applications logs. 5pt: What is your plan for next week? I plan to finish the controllers to add, remove, update, and view these logs. We have the front end completely secured due to needing to have it ready for a public facing domain. Our user pages are also making headway into a final stage. 5pt: What is your plan for next week? We plan to continue work on the front end for our user pages while also getting our application running on AWS in some form. 5pt: What challenges, if any, are you currently facing in project development? CST489 / 499 Week 16

  For this week, please spend time browsing through your two years of journals and reflect on your overall experience and growth in the program. Some thoughts on future plans would be great, also.   This program has been an interesting two years, we've gone over so much material and yet I know I have so much more to learn just due to the nature of this field. I hope to continue to grow as I have these past 2 years and into a position where I can leverage my new skills.
